A downloadable project

This project lays out research, methods, and expert industry opinions about accessibility and how it can be better translated into the game design pipeline. It pushes for accessibility to be prioritized within early development along with a focus on user research to be a fundamental part of the process.

The aim was to shift the perspective away from shaming developers and instead highlight the issues and barriers of accessible design and how the industry can change standardized methods to combat and break those barriers.

Often accessibility, in general, is misunderstood and under-thought. Game developers want to create more accessible games, the issue lies within the standard practice of games development and the lack of actionable methods produced that both communicate the purpose and show effective results.

This research project conveys that we shouldn't shame developers for not being accessible enough, but instead suggest HOW they can change and make those changes more permanent and feasible within the restrictions and logistics of game design.
